Day 1: BIA to Negombo

  • Arrival in Colombo International Airport and meet our representative.
  • Transfer to coastal town of Negombo – 20 minutes drive approximately
  • Dinner and Overnight stay in Negombo at Goldi Sands Hotel

Day 2: Negombo to Thanamalwila

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Transfer to Thanamalwila – 5 hours drive approximately
  • Lunch at Rural Farm Stay
  • Walk around the farm and pick your own vegetables for a cook with our team, an ideal experience to learn to cook a traditional Sri Lankan meal

Day 3: Thanamalwila Rural farm

  • Breakfast at the farm
  • Learn to how to make curd, a traditional Sri Lankan dessert made out of Buffalo milk. Canoe trip in the lake and do fishing in traditional way. Bath in the river and Enjoy the lunch. Afternoon safari for crocodiles and elephants.

Day 4: Thanamalwila

  • Breakfast at the farm
  • Go safari in the morning till noon in Weheragala National Park to see Leopards and Elephants.

Day 5: Thanamalwila to Arugam Bay

  • Breakfast at the farm
  • Transfer to Arugam Bay – 3 hours drive approximately
  • During the months of late July and early August you will be able to witness century old Pilgrimage of “Pada Yathra” inside Kumana National park. If your trips falls during these months we could include a trip to Kuda Kebalitta Hindu Temple to witness this one of a kind ritual in a an afternoon followed by a safari game drive in Kumana National Park. (Optional)

Day 8:Arugam Bay

  • Early morning at 4.30 AM A villager will take you for a Jeep ride to Kudumbigala ancient monastery which is till to date inhabited by Buddhist monks who meditate inside the rock caves. On top of the monastery is a an ancient ruined Pagoda where you could witness stunning sunrise. Kudumbigala monastic complex was built in 246 BC, during the time of King Devanampiyatissa. It was first established as a refuge for the Buddhist monks who wanted to get away from the busy Cities. Archaeologists had recovered over 200 rock caves belonging to this forgotten monastery. We then go to ancient Okanda Murugan Kovil which is a very reverent temple of Hinduism followed by visit to Crocodile canal and enjoy a home cooked breakfast at a home stay. This excursions ends in Arugam Bay by 12.30 PM.

Day 9:Arugam Bay

  • Relax by the beach in the morning
  • In the afternoon, join with a villager in his jeep for a cultural exploration trip to historical sites and temples of Muhudu Maha Viharaya, Magul Maha Viharaya, Neelagiri Buddha Statue and Tharulengala Cave followed by a private seafood BBQ dinner in Panama Beach.

Day 10:Arugam Bay to Beragala

Day 11:Ohiya, Haputale, Idalgasinna

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Start trekking through some of the most scenic mountain and valleys of Sri Lanka in the areas of Ohiya, Haputale, Idalgasinna and Thangamalay rain forest walking through scenic and very remote tea estates, rail roads, rail road tunnels, remote train stations and a rain forest patch. Picnic meals will be provided.

Day 12:Horton Plains to Kandy

  • Breakfast at the lodge
  • Take a nature trail in Horton Plains National Park to see the World's end point and Baker's waterfall. Horton plains once was the hunting playground of the British Colonial settlers and planters. Trout fish were introduced by the British in the lakes of Horton Plains to fish them for recreation and trout fish inhabit these lakes to date. Picnic lunch will be provided during the trek.
  • Then transfer to Ohiya railway station to get on board the train to Kandy
  • Dinner and Overnight stay in Kandy at Kandyan Manor Home Stay

  • Transfer to Sigiriya – 2 hours drive approximately

Day 14:Sigiriya Cycle Tour

  • Breakfast at the hotel Take a cycle trip in an authentic village in Sigiriya during its busy hours in the morning to witness the village way of living where you could see children going to school, vendors coming in their bike to sell fish and vegetables, visit a Brick stone manufacturer in the village, walk in the paddy fields and lake bunts with a visit to Pidurangala Monastery.
  • Take cycling ride to Ritigala Heritage/monastery through the countryside. The ruins and rock inscriptions of the monastery date back to 1st century BC.
  • Dinner and Overnight stay in Sigiriya at Back of Beyond Dehigaha Ela Eco Lodge in a Tree House

Day 14:Sigiriya

  • Explore Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a citadel built by King Kasshyapa. A UNESCO World heritage site built in 5th century.
  • Transfer to Colombo – 4 hours drive approximately
  • Dinner and Overnight stay in Colombo at Cinnamon Red Hotel

  • Transfer to Colombo Airport to fly back home
