Day 1: Airport to Colombo
Day 2 & 3 : Dambulla
- On the way to Dambulla, you can visit Bawa’s Colombo Residence which is a masterpiece of its own. You can also visit the Sigiriya Rock Fortress and the ancient Kingdom of Polonnaruwa

The Embekke Temple is known for its intricate wood carvings and if you are a follower of ancient art and heritage this would be a wonderful experience. You will also visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth

Unlike most temples, it's crafted almost entirely from wood, boasting intricate carvings that adorn everything from the open-sided halls to the beautifully crafted roof. The octagonal pillars themselves are works of art, with their square-topped bases adorned with carvings of swans, eagles, dancers, and even mythical creatures. This dedication to detail extends throughout the temple, with carvings gracing the beams, rafters, and even doorframes. The roof is another marvel of engineering, showcasing 26 rafters supported by a single wooden pin.
Day 5 : Bentota
- Lunuganga Estate, the rural abode of Geoffrey Bawa : The esteemed Geoffrey Bawa, an individual of multifaceted talents, established the Lunuganga Estate as his rural sanctuary. Commencing its development in 1947, this botanical haven propelled Bawa, initially trained as a lawyer, to pursue a career in architecture. Amidst his journey to becoming one of Sri Lanka's foremost architectural luminaries, the sanctuary of Lunuganga remained his primary wellspring of inspiration and a canvas for his architectural experiments. Continuously evolving and refining its spaces and structures over the decades, Bawa's creative endeavors within the estate persisted until his final days in 1998. Upon his passing in 2003, the stewardship of Lunuganga passed to the Lunuganga Trust, opening its gates to the public and transforming its structures into a haven for travelers seeking respite.
